No Survivors in Kabul Plane Crash

A cargo plane carrying a crew of eight crashed into the mountains near Kabul around 8 p.m., Monday night, killing all on board. The plane was owned by National Air Cargo, and reportedly carried six Filipinos, an Indian, and a Kenyan. Witnesses say a fire burned for hours at the site of the crash in the mountains outside the Afghan capital. Early reports indicated the plane was an L-100 Hercules aircraft, the civilian equivalent of a military C-130. This is the second civilian aviation crash in five months, after a commercial jet carrying 44, run by the Afghan airline Pamir Airways, slammed into the mountains north of Kabul in May.
