Some interesting details have emerged following the news of Katy Perry and Russell Brand’s extravagant nuptials in India on Saturday. Actor-comedian Brand bought the pop star a female Bengal tiger named Machli as a wedding gift, while Perry bought Brand a baby elephant. Apparently, the tiger was regarded by the park rangers as "the epitome of beauty"—reflecting Brand’s feelings for Perry. The singer, however, will leave Machli at her home in India, and the money Brand paid for the tiger will be invested in the tiger’s upkeep. Other highlights of the over-the-top Hindu ceremony include a Hindu guru, a fortune-telling parrot, and a reported 30-minute speech by Perry where she talked about reincarnation, and how she and Brand were together in a previous life.
