Barbara Bush Swipes Palin

This is not what you would call a “resounding endorsement.” Appearing on Larry King’s long goodbye series, former First Lady Barbara Bush was asked about her impression of Sarah Palin. "I sat next to her once. Thought she was beautiful,” the former first lady said. “And I think she's very happy in Alaska, and I hope she'll stay there." Palin had been encouraging speculation about the possibility that she might run for president in 2012, even saying publicly that if conditions are right she will. The underhanded praise of Palin came after President George H. W. Bush said the tea party confuses him, and questioned its ability to be effective in Congress.
