Anna Chapman Appears on TV

We’re still waiting for her first feature-film role. Anna Chapman, the Russian redhead who was deported from the United States six months ago for spying, made her first major appearance since the scandal on Russian television. She wasn’t willing to give up any details on her spying—“I will never confirm whether I worked in intelligence,”—though she seemed to contradict that when she said, “Next year I will reveal all my secrets.” She also expressed her desire for a lion cub and talked about her love for shooting: “I am a very good shot. I have a passion for it.” Since returning to Russia, she’s been a tabloid mainstay; a popular Russian radio host recently declared her “without exaggeration the woman of the year.”
