U.S. Diplomat Kills Two

An American diplomat has shot and killed two men in Lahore, Pakistan. The consular official shot a motorcycle rider and passenger after the bike pulled up next to his car; the two men were armed, and the official says he acted in self-defense. The diplomat is currently in custody and may be charged with murder and with illegally carrying a weapon. After the shooting, protesters blocked off the street with burning tires and picketed the police station where the official’s car was impounded.
