Google: Microsoft Cheated

Corporate espionage in Silicon Valley: Google has accused Microsoft’s search engine Bing of copying its search results. On Tuesday, Google revealed a “sting” operation, in which it altered its search-results algorithm to see if Microsoft would do the same. Weeks later, the same changes appeared in Bing’s search results. The man who oversees Google’s search-algorithm software said it was “cheating.” Microsoft’s corporate vice president fired back that Google was staging a "spy-novelesque stunt to generate extreme outliers," while a Microsoft spokesman said "We do not copy Google's results.”
