Behold, the power of Avatar: In 2010, James Cameron earned $257 million, making him Hollywood’s top earner, according to Vanity Fair’s “Top 40” list published Wednesday. The Avatar director earned more than double that of Johnny Depp, the next highest earner, who brought in $100 million for his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice in Wonderland, and The Tourist. Filling out the top five are Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan, and Leonardo DiCaprio. And by Vanity Fair’s account, Twilight star Kristen Stewart is the highest-earning woman: She brought in $28.5 million in 2010.
