Lobbyist, wonk, and now journalist? Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, will be a special correspondent for The Daily Caller, the website announced Tuesday. Her new job comes just six weeks after she announced she was setting up shop as a lobbyist and Tea Party “ambassador.” In a press release, The Daily Caller said she will “interview key political and community leaders—from high-profile politicians to grassroots activists.” Thomas has had a wild few months, getting coverage for calling Anita Hill to demand an apology for decades-old allegations of sexual abuse against her husband and being pushed out of a Tea Party group—in addition to a kerfuffle over Clarence Thomas’ failure to report her income. But even detractors are greeting her hire with an admission that she’s willing to make the tough phone calls, a skill that should hold her in good stead in journalism.
