Stephen Colbert may not actually be running for president (yet), but he’s got the political action committee all set. Colbert filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission on Friday to start a PAC, the organizations that fund political campaigns. “I believe in the American dream,” Colbert said to a roaring crowd in Washington D.C. “Anybody, no matter who they are, if they are willing to work hard enough, some day they could grow up to create a legal entity which could then receive unlimited corporate funds which then could be used to influence our elections.” Colbert wants to shed light on the 2010 Citizens United Supreme Court ruling, which allowed corporations to donate money to candidates through political action committees.
