Rahm Emanuel Sworn In

It's been a long time coming. Rahm Emanuel was sworn in as Chicago's 46th mayor on Monday morning, promising to rescue the city from its financial downturn and meet residents' expectations. A crowd of thousands watched the ceremony at Millennium Park as Emanuel delivered a somber yet uplifting statement: "We have much to do, but we should first acknowledge how far we have come." Emanuel, President Obama's former chief of staff, said Chicago was ready for change now more than ever. He also paid homage to his predecessor, Richard M. Daley, saying Chicago is "a different city today than the one Mayor Daley inherited, thanks to all he did."
