    New York Magazine Looks for Movie Deals

    Here's a great way for magazines to make more money: New York magazine has reportedly brokered a deal with International Creative Management to adapt its features for film and television. The New York Times is one of ICM's other clients, and under their representation the daily has booked over 30 film and TV option deals. ICM will rep New York Magazine in all areas to make the weekly more accessible to Hollywood. Over the years, articles from the magazine have inspired many films and shows about the city that never sleeps. The TV series Taxi was adapted from Mark Jacobson's article "Night-Shifting for the Hip Fleet", and Saturday Night Fever was inspired by Nik Cohn's "Tribal Rites of the New Saturday Night." Other movies and TV shows that sprung from the magazine include Goodfellas and Grey Gardens.
