    NY Gay Marriage Bill Needs One Vote

    New York State is just one vote shy of becoming the largest state to legalize gay marriage after a second Republican senator, Roy J. McDonald, came forward to support the bill on Tuesday. When same-sex legislation was last before the state senate, the GOP voted against it en masse. Three Democrats who also previously opposed the bill have indicated they will switch their votes. A vote is likely for Friday.
