    Gingrich’s Finance Team Quits

    Those still working for Newt Gingrich are really abandoning ship now. Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, fundraising director Jody Thomas and finance consultant Mary Heitman have resigned from the former House speaker’s 2012 campaign team, Gingrich’s spokesman confirmed Tuesday. This after 16 top aides and advisers quit en masse earlier this month. Still, Gingrich has insisted he’s staying in the race. Fundraising has been weak and the Republican candidate has racked up large travel bills.
