The covert drone campaign against al Qaeda's franchise in Yemen is expanding into Somalia. A U.S. Predator drone attacked several suspected members of the Somali group al Shabaab late last month, and Somali officials now say U.S. forces landed to retrieve the bodies of the dead and wounded, marking at least the second time U.S. troops have landed in Somalia after a targeted strike. The Somalis targeted in the strike had been in contact with Anwar al-Awlaki, the American-born radical cleric hiding in Yemen. It's the latest evidence in what American officials say is a growing link between militants in the two countries.
