Obama: ‘Enough is Enough’

President Obama is not known to lose his cool, but he is apparently running out of patience with the GOP over debt-ceiling negotiations. “Enough is enough,” the president said in Wednesday’s meetings. “This process is confirming what the American people think is the worst about Washington. Everyone is more interested in posturing, political position and protecting their base than in solving problems.” He rejected House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s call for a short-term fix, saying it would hurt the economy and that he didn’t want to punt the football. "Don't call my bluff," he warned Cantor at one point. “This may bring my presidency down, but I will not yield on this.” Not long thereafter, he walked out of the room. Meetings resume Thursday at 4:15.
