This may not be a very welcome homecoming: Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who was severely burned in an attack on June 3 and was spirited away to Saudi Arabia for medical treatment, will return to his country on Sunday, a senior party official said. Zaid Thari, a political adviser to Saleh’s party, said the president’s health is improving quickly. The return will also mark the 33rd anniversary of his rule. Thari said a massive celebration is being planned. Saleh and his officials have rejected widespread calls for him to step down.
