Northeast Heat Wave Simmers Down

After suffering record heat—and an uncomfortably stressed power grid—the Northeast is due for some weather relief on Sunday. Temperatures are expected to cool moderately on Sunday, coming down from the triple-digit highs of the weekend. But the South and mid-Atlantic states will continue to feel the burn. About 10,000 customers are still without power in New York City and its suburbs, and 9,000 more in New Jersey. In Philadelphia, even public pool access was limited to meet demand.
