The Coast Guard on Monday captured a “narco submarine” attempting to smuggle $180 million of cocaine into the U.S. The crew of the boat, which was taken off the coast of Honduras, tried to sink the submarine as the Coast Guard approached; however, an FBI dive team was able to recover 7.5 tons of cocaine. It’s the first time a submarine has been caught in the Caribbean; they are regularly used to smuggle drugs in the Pacific.
