    Clinton Urges More Syria Sanctions

    Secretary of State Hillary Clinton urged other countries to tighten their sanctions on Syria in an attempt to pressure President Bashar al-Assad to stop his brutal crackdown on demonstrators. Specifically, she encouraged China and India to impose energy sanctions and Russia to stop selling weapons to Damascus. Eleven people were reportedly killed in raids near the Lebanon border, the latest casualties in al-Assad's crackdown during the holy month of Ramadan.
