A Mets-Phillies game was delayed Monday night when Mets centerfielder Angel Pagan failed to show up for an at-bat—because he was in the bathroom. “I told the trainer, I have to go to the bathroom," says Pagan, who felt a rumbling in his stomach at the end of the fourth inning. "When you're up fourth in the inning and you have to do that, it's just not fun.” Fans began booing as they waited for Pagan to show up, and the umpire had to visit the Mets bench. Pagan eventually turned up and grounded out before his manager replaced him in centerfield. The Mets lost 10-0.
