Santorum Condemns Debate Audience

It was hard to miss the boos reverberating through the Orange County Convention Center following the YouTube video of a gay soldier during last night’s Republican Presidential debate. But Rick Santorum, who followed the soldier’s question about his stance on gays in the military (and the subsequent boos) with a declaration to restore Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, now insists he didn’t hear the jeers. On Fox News Santorum said, “I condemn the people who booed that gay soldier. Certainly had I heard them, I would have said, ‘Don’t do that. This man is serving our country, and we are to thank him for his service.’”
