Brother, you’ll be spending the night in jail. Princeton professor and civil-rights activist Cornel West was arrested while protesting on the steps of the Supreme Court. The protesters were demonstrating as part of the October 2011 Stop the Machine protest, which is antiwar and anti-corporate greed. A spokeswoman for the Supreme Court said that 19 people were arrested on Sunday because they refused to leave the grounds. Before being arrested, West attended the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial dedication.
