Goodness knows President Obama’s poll ratings aren’t high. Democratic lawmakers were notably absent from the president’s side during recent trips to Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Democrats haven’t said they were deliberately avoiding him, but they all have different reasons why they didn’t show up. Former Pennsylvanian governor Ed Rendell said it was “political idiocy” to duck the POTUS. “A lot of members of Congress are complete wusses,” Rendell said. “It’s absurd to think if you show up with the president, you’re doing yourself some damage. Do these members think for a minute voters are going to forget they are Democrats?”
