Steve Jobs’s sister, Mona Simpson, didn’t find out she was related to the late Apple cofounder until she was 25. “Even as a feminist,” she writes in The New York Times, “my whole life I’d been waiting for a man to love, who could love me…When I was 25, I met that man and he was my brother.” Simpson, an author, shares the life lessons she learned from Jobs. “Novelty,” she writes, “was not Steve’s highest value. Beauty was.” Describing the final moments before he died, Simpson says it appeared Jobs was on an “arduous journey” and “seemed to be climbing.” His final words: “OH WOW. OH WOW. OH WOW.”
