A police officer investigates the scene where a man was shot and killed Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, outside the encampment that anti-Wall Street protesters have occupied for the last month in Oakland, Calif.

The shooting death of a man near the Occupy Oakland protest encampment has renewed pressure on the movement, with Mayor Jean Quan ordering the camp disband immediately. Meanwhile, in Salt Lake City, where a man was found dead inside a tent yesterday from a combination of drug use and carbon monoxide, police have ordered protesters to leave the camp. In Portland, Ore., the mayor is also demanding the protesters leave, after the arrest of a camper on suspicion of setting off a Molotov cocktail outside an office building. Mayor Sam Adams said the camp will be shut down by midnight Saturday.
