Looking for fodder for a water cooler sports argument? Look no further than Dan Wolken’s column in The Daily, arguing that Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow should be the league’s MVP this year. Yes, that honor is typically given to the most elite players on Super Bowl–caliber teams, but Tebow’s miraculous game-winning plays, controversial on-field religiosity, and the polarizing debate about his skill level have saved his season from the doldrums. He should get some credit for giving football fans a story to care about. “The NFL is a made-for-television sport, and Tebow is a soap opera from which you can’t turn away.”
