Congress’s Approval Hits New Low

Bad news for Congress—a new Gallup poll found its approval at a new low. Seventy-six percent of those surveyed said representatives should not be reelected—the highest figure ever. Just 20 percent said members of Congress deserve reelection. This could be good news for Democrats: Gallup editor-in-chief Frank Newport said that if this sentiment stays through November’s election, “it’s possible that control of the House would flip back to Democrats.”
