Mitt: Misspoke in ‘Very Poor’ Flub

Steve Nesius / Landov

U.S. Republican presidential candidate and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney appears at his Florida primary night rally in Tampa, Florida January 31, 2012.

Oh ok, Mitt. Now that it’s been nearly a day and a half since Romney made headlines for saying that he was “not concerned about the very poor”—and after his campaign said that the quote was taken out of context—Mitt’s had a change of heart. In an interview set to air Thursday night, the presidential hopeful now says that it was a “misstatement” and that he “misspoke.” Apparently, he’s said the same sort of thing like that for a while now. The reason for Romney’s slip up? Thousands of interviews. If he makes it to November, he can expect thousands more.
