‘Simpsons’ Marks 500th Episode

Homer and Marge meet their new neighbor Julian Assange (guest voice as himself) in "At Long Last Leave," the milestone 500th episode of The Simpsons, which aired Sunday, Feb. 19.

The Simpsons marked its 500th episode with an opening declaring it “the most meaningless milestone of all!” The 22-year-old show also featured a cameo by WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange, who lives on an off-the-grid settlement where the Simpson family is exiled. Assange recorded his lines from the U.K., where he is fighting extradition to Sweden over alleged sex crimes. The show will continue its run for at least two more seasons, which will bring the total number of episodes to at least 559.
