Romney Sweeps Arizona & Michigan

Does Mitt have his mojo back? Romney took home two important states in last night’s primaries, winning his boyhood home of Michigan by about 3 points (a small margin, but “enough,” he said) and scooping up Arizona, where he led second-place Rick Santorum by 20 points. Romney was born in Michigan and his father was a well-liked governor there, and his wins in both states give his campaign a boost as the battered Republican candidates stagger toward Super Tuesday. The Michigan vote also serves as an important barometer of how candidates will do in the industrial Midwest come the general election. Rick Santorum told Michigan supporters that his insurgent campaign is meeting its goals as he heads off to Ohio: “A month ago, they didn’t know who we are—but they do now.”
