A storm ripped through the Midwest last night, spawning possible tornadoes that killed at least 11 people in Illinois and Missouri. In Kansas three people were seriously injured when what appears to have been a tornado touched down in the small town of Harveyville. Sixteen tornado sightings were reported between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning across the region, according to the U.S. Storm Prediction Center. The popular tourist city of Branson, Mo., saw significant damage to hotels and theaters after an apparent tornado ripped through town at around 1 a.m. “The theater next to me kind of exploded,” a Branson business owner said. “It went everywhere.”
