It looks like Rick Santorum will be able to count on his former constituents in the upcoming Pennsylvania primary—at least according to the latest Quinnipiac University Poll. Thirty-six percent of Republican primary voters in Pennsylvania support their former senator, while 22 percent stand behind Mitt Romney, the poll finds. Ron Paul can claim 12 percent of the Republican primary voters in the state, while 8 percent plan on voting for Newt Gingrich. Pennsylvania Republicans will take to the polls on April 24 in a primary vote that holds 72 delegates. Santorum’s chances against President Obama are also looking good. Quinnipiac finds him within 1 point of the president in a hypothetical matchup, 45–44 percent, in Pennsylvania. When paired against Obama, Romney loses 46–40 in the state.
