According to reports today, Newt Gingrich called Mitt Romney last weekend before the Louisiana primary for a secret meeting at a hotel in New Orleans. Despite speculation that Gingrich may have offered to drop out in exchange for either a Romney administration post or help paying off his campaign debt, the former House speaker has insisted the two were not making a deal.
