Former rivals Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum are scheduled to meet on Friday May 4, it was announced Monday. The politicians plan to discuss a number of policy issues, and Santorum hopes to ensure that Romney will support repealing Obamacare and not replacing it with another mandate. One Santorum aide said, “We want to make sure that conservatives, Tea Partiers, and middle America has a strong voice in the Romney campaign.” Santorum suspended his campaign two weeks ago, and although the pair will also discuss endorsements, sources say it is unlikely that the former senator will offer an official endorsement as a result of the meeting.
