Scott Brown was eager to release four years of his tax returns—and urged Mitt Romney and Elizabeth Warren to do the same—but now he has, and his secret’s out: he’s not so average. The Massachusetts senator has gone to great lengths to paint himself as a regular joe, but his tax returns reveal that his income rose from $300,000 to $839,000 during his first two years in office, coming to $510,000 this year. Among Brown’s various tax deductions are $1,401 for “TV makeup and grooming,” $2,275 for “entertainment,” and $225 for “recording devices.” Brown’s returns also show that he owns six homes—twice as many as Mitt Romney.
