Interior designer Bryan Huffman testified about his role in funneling money to John Edwards during day nine of the former politician’s trial. In one instance, Edwards received a check for $100,000 from "Bunny" Mellon, which said “antique Charleston table and chairs” in the memo line. Huffman then endorsed the check and sent it to one of Edwards’s fundraisers. This method was used to hide $725,000 in secret money sent from Mellon to Edwards, Huffman claimed. When asked if Mellon knew about the $2,300 limit on individual campaign contributions, Huffman replied, “She thought it was a little low. Our furniture business did not really involve furniture. It was money for Senator Edwards.”
