The latest back-and-forth between the Obama and Romney camps went something like this: on Friday, President Obama commented that the private sector is “doing fine,” which prompted Mitt Romney to ask, is Obama “really that out of touch?” It was funny, because that’s what everyone says about Mitt. Also during that speech, Romney made clear that the last thing he thinks this country needs is more firemen, policemen, and teachers. “It’s time for us to cut back the government and help the American people,” he declared. Naturally the Obama campaign seized on Romney’s words, allowing senior strategist David Axelrod to ask, “What planet is he living on, where he thinks that we can take this kind of hits to our education system and progress as a country?” Romney adviser Bay Buchanan took to CNN this morning to question whether Obama is either “completely clueless about what is going on in this country” or just doesn’t care.
