Online travel agency Orbitz reportedly shows Mac users more expensive hotel options than Windows visitors see when visiting the site. The website discovered that people who use Mac computers spend up to 30 percent more per night than their Windows-using counterparts. Mac users are also 40 percent more likely to book a four- or five-star hotel, according to the company’s chief scientist. He also said if Mac and PC users book the same hotel, the Mac users are more likely to book an expensive room. Orbitz executives have confirmed that the company is experimenting with showing different hotels to Mac and PC users, but said that the company does not show the same room to different users at different prices.
