Iran is set to kick off three days of war games today, testing low-, medium-, and long-range missiles that will be fired at targets set up to look like airbases of foreign powers, according to the semiofficial Mehr News Agency. The tests are being conducted to gauge the “precision and efficiency of warheads and missile systems,” according to the agency. The news comes the same day a European Union embargo of Iranian oil is set to take effect, a move geared toward pressuring Iran to give up its nascent nuclear weapons program. Iran gets about 80 percent of its foreign revenue from oil exports.
