Ann Curry gave an emotional farewell last Thursday during her final appearance as co-host of NBC’s Today show, but she didn’t have Matt Lauer’s shoulder to cry on. Curry, 55, was given the boot after just one year with NBC’s hit morning show, and Lauer was reportedly “100 percent behind Ann leaving,” a source told US Weekly. The two were apparently “really icy to each other” in the days leading up to her departure. When she signed off on-air, Curry dismissed rumors that she and Lauer lacked chemistry. But if the show’s ratings dip is any indication, her rapport with Lauer didn't compare with former co-hosts Katie Couric and Meredith Vieira. Former White House correspondent Savannah Guthrie is taking Curry’s place.
