Talk about intimidating. If Aretha Franklin gets her wish, aspiring songsters could face down the Queen of Soul on a coming season of American Idol. Franklin expressed her interest in the show in an email to CNN on Saturday. The show lost judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez earlier this week, but Franklin, who has won 18 Grammy Awards and is still as active as ever at age 70, would more than make up for the dropped critical talent. Ratings for the singing competition have slid recently; it lost the most-watched spot this year to Sunday Night Football.
