    Clinton Meets Egypt’s Military

    Hillary Clinton had a “cordial” meeting with Field Marshal Mohamad Hussein Tantawi, the head of Egypt’s top military council. The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces has been in conflict with President Mohamed Morsi over its decision to shut down Parliament last month. During the meeting, Clinton urged a “full transition to civilian rule.” But a State Department official said she also praised Egypt’s military council “for representing the Egyptian people in the revolution as compared to what we are seeing in Syria, which is the military murdering their own people.”
