    Syrian Aircraft Strike Aleppo

    Rebel fighters in Syria claimed a major victory Tuesday in the 16-month-old fight for power in the country. Syrian combat aircraft and artillery reportedly pummeled the city of Aleppo late into the night. Aleppo is Syria’s largest city and a crucial test in the clash between rebel fighters and troops loyal to President Bashar al-Assad. The rebels, who drove through the city shouting “God is great,” claim that Assad’s forces were driven to retreat
