Melky Cabrera has been suspended from the San Francisco Giants for 50 games, after testing positive for testosterone. He will miss the final 45 games of the season and part of the next season or the postseason if the Giants make the playoffs. The All-Star Game MVP had a 51-hit month in May. Cabrera said, “My positive test was the result of my use of a substance I should not have used … I am deeply sorry for my mistake and I apologize to my teammates, to the San Francisco Giants organization, and to the fans for letting them down.”
