Hopefully this went better than Saturday Night Live's version of a fiscal cliff compromise. President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner met in ongoing negotiations Sunday to discuss the fiscal cliff. It was the first meeting of the two since Election Day. A spokesperson for the two said the contents of the conversation will remain private, but that communication remains open. Obama has continued to push for higher taxes on the wealthy as a solution to the automatic tax increases set to kick in the beginning of 2013. The GOP has continually refused this plan, resulting in a bitter stalemate that has been plaguing Washington for weeks.
