Obama Taps Kerry for State
Can't say we didn't see this coming. President Obama said Friday that he will be nominating Sen. John Kerry as Secretary of State, when Hillary Clinton retires early next year. Kerry's appointment has been somewhat of a foregone conclusion since United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice withdrew her candidacy, spurred by Senate Republicans saying she misled them about the Benghazi attack. Kerry has been an unofficial emissary to hot spots like Afghanistan and Pakistan under the Obama administration.
