Up for a special award, Jodie Foster made a long and stunning speech at the Golden Globes, leaving the audience unsure whether she was coming out of the closet, ending her acting career, or none of the above. Winner of the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award, Foster paid tribute to her 47 years in show business, her casts and crews, and, most touchingly, her mother. She begged for privacy in Hollywood and even had a “coming out,” yelling with her arms open “I'm single!” and requesting a cat call. “Jodie Foster was here. I still am. I want to be seen,” she triumphantly finished with, immediately becoming a Twitter trend and inspiring conspiracy theories of what, exactly, her speech was trying to say.
