Hopefully, the only Bush admitted to the hospital in 2013 will be Jenna Bush Hager when she gives birth. Former president George H.W. Bush was released from Methodist Hospital in Houston on Monday after spending nearly two months there for bronchitis-related issues. Bush, 88, was admitted on Nov. 23, and his stay included a weeklong stint in intensive care. On Dec. 29, he was moved back to a regular hospital room, and since then, his condition has been steadily improving while he underwent physical therapy. In addition to bronchitis, his staff said he had a bacterial infection. Bush is the country’s oldest former president, and he and his wife, Barbara, celebrate their 68th wedding anniversary on Jan. 6—the longest-married presidential couple.
