CNN’s VP Resigns

Big changes are underway at CNN as new chief Jeff Zucker proceeds to make his mark. 20/20 co-anchor Chris Cuomo is in, while political consultant Mary Matalin is out. As is Mark Whitaker, who joined the network as vice president and managing editor two years ago. Whitaker explained his decision to leave in a memo obtained by TVNewser, writing, “[With] Jeff Zucker’s arrival, we have a new leader with his own forceful ideas about where to take CNN’s reporting, programming, and brand. For him to succeed, I believe he deserves his own team and management structure and the freedom to communicate one clear vision to the staff.”
