After a seven-day standoff with police, the hostage situation in Alabama is over, and the 5-year-old victim is in the hospital receiving treatment. "The boy is laughing, joking, playing, he's eating; he's very brave, he's very lucky, and the success story is that he is out safe and doing good," FBI Special Agent Steve Richardson told reporters Monday night. Jim Dykes, the 65-year-old man who kidnapped the boy from a bus and held him in an underground bunker, was killed when the FBI raided the holding space, but how he died is unclear.
